This has to be one of our favourite places to go fishin. We have spent many Thursday nights heading straight from work to try catch the sunset on this Pier and night fishing waiting for the perfect catch. We have caught bream, blue swinger crab, pike, squid, cat fish, flathead and waiting for a king fish ;) Thank you to Tackle Land at Sandgate for always hooking us up with the best bait. They are the only place we know that cuts up mullet into little pieces and salts it (known as bream bites) ready to go. If you want genuine, friendly and helpful service and advice go here! We have found that salty mullet works the best for us but have also tried out prawn, pilchard and lures such as squid jig and vibes. Also tried a chicken nugget which didn't reel in a fish but reeled in Sarah's stomach ;) This is a safe place to fish at night as the Pier is lit up, there is available toilet facilities and always friendly faces out for a fish. If you are looking for a beautiful sunset than go here. Nothing better than using our jetfoils to heat up a hot choccie and watching the sun go down, rod in the water and laughing our heads off.
