When your going fishing, you must have a backup plan... If you can't catch anything because the fish have lockjaw then what else can you do to enjoy the experience.
We always spice up our adventures in some way and one thing we always make sure of is that we see the sunrise, the best part of the day. Just doing this will make your entire trip worth it. Its breathtaking and memorable.
This time I thought I would surprise Evie with some Pancakes, cooked on the Kayak, something we haven't tried before. Theres nothin we can't do so we gave it a crack, after sunrise. Wow it was awesome! We anchored up beside each other, connected by some fish lip grippers haha and a hockey strap attached to some muddy thing sticking out of the water.
I brought the following:
Gas Cooker, with Gas
Canola oil spray
Pancake flipper
Lighter
Pancake Mix - Make sure you add the water and give it a shake before you get in the Kayak.
serving plate - in this case was our bait chopping board haha!
Maple syrup. OMG have you tried real Canadian maple Syrup??!?!?! Add it to your bucket list NOW
I set up the gas cooker between my legs in my Viking Espri Kayak and to make it more comfortable I stretched my legs out to Evie's Kayak (thanks Evie) Pancakes were amazing!!
so we were fishing the North Pine River this time, launched at Leis Park, located on leis Parade, I also scoped out another launch spot on the other side of the river at Sweeney Reserve.
Firstly we paddled down stream, towards the sunrise. Lots of fish jumping around int he morning Early...none of them were hungry.
we paddled a fair way down, fishing with all types of soft plastics along the way with no luck, looks like perfect flatty waters . Then we decided to head back and fish the way back upstream past our launch point, still no luck.
Out comes back up plan no 2 - Papaya. This was amazing. yummmmmmmmmmm

All round a good day, few hooligans getting around at the launch point when we left at lunch time but all good!
Heres the video from the day:
