Well today/this weekend was sure a REEL adventure. From Boating to Camping, Fishing, Kayaking, Pole Dancing and everything in between.
After fishing all Friday and Saturday on the Boat at Somerset (caught nothing), we headed off to the Sunshine Coast to meet up with Jason from Viking Kayaks at 188 Nicklin Way, Warana, QLD 4575. Jason spent a few hours teaching us about the different styles and features of these Australian Made and Owned Kayaks. Wow he has some serious knowledge and passion when it comes to Kayaking and he is most definitely your go to guy if you are unsure about which type of Kayak to buy for what reason you want it for. We came to the conclusion of going with the Vikings Espri Kayaks as they are a good starting out Kayak for the amateur angler. Espri is 3.6m in length and 80cm wide giving it a great performance/stability level. Our Kayaks are set up with:
Propelz Ergo seat
Propelz Eco paddle
2 storage hatches (1 with removable bucket)
2 Flush mount rod holders
Safety Grab line
Bow & stern carry handles
The Espri RRP is $800.00 and you can choose to go with the Espri Angler upgrade kit SRP $100.00 which includes:
1 x Railblaza Adjustable Rod Holders
1 x Paddle Holder
2x Flush mount rod holders.
Here is us just before we loaded the Kayaks on the roof of the van....LUCKY Hookasistaup has a van we said, could you imagine us putting these on the roof of a sedan ect? haha! We left Viking Kayaks feeling very informed and excited to get these out on the water and catch our fist fish Kayak Hunting!

We drove home in a mad rush as we were attended the QLD Pole Dance Competitions that night, the website said it went to 10pm but it turns out it went until MIDNIGHT :/.
We had planned to leave at 4am, (before we knew it went until midnight. Show was amazing, we were dreading the 330am wakeup that is for sure but we knew it would be worth it! Read our Next Blog post on our trip to Somerset Dam on our FIRST HOOKASISTAUP Kayaking Adventure!

P.S Thanks Jason for helping/Teaching us the best way to tie these Kayaks down on the roof, there is a bit of an art to it, so watch this space and we will share our knowledge with you too!
